The 3rd FK Specimen Competition was held at Roodekoppies Dam on the first weekend of November.
The Competition was held at the Water Affairs bank as well as 2 other banks filling up 45 pegs in total. The prize money for the Heaviest carp was a whopping R50 000 as well as more insane cahs prizes.

After the peg draws on the friday morning the anglers headed out to their swims for camp set up and boat inspection. The comp started at 12 and Rudi from team FTA was off the mark first with a few good fish. Soon after that the team from BTA started getting into some good size fish. Team FTA’s other team lead by Moe Jala was also off the mark early in the competition and soon they were catching 10kg plus fish one after the other.
On the first evening there was a call for a big fish and it was once again Moe Jala’s team who landed a monster. This fish was to be the biggest of the competition weighing in at 16.2kg. For all the highlights watch the youtube clip of this epic competition.
