Korda Rod Holdalls

In a recent feature we were lamenting the fact that not decent Rod Holdalls were available on the market, well Korda have certainly now filled that gap, with various options to suit every anglers rod protection needs.

Given South African carpers love of tackle, I can see a need for at least 2 of the 5-Rod holdalls part of every long session anglers kit, and certainly I would need two. The extras rod in the one set would hold my Spod setup, while the other would hold my Marker gear.

The fact that I’m generally boating lines in, won’t deter me or cloud the need to fill the extra space the 5 rod hold all offers, with something.

The no-nonsense hard-wearing material, in an African Sandy Khaki colour, looked very durable and robust. Heavy-duty stitching down all seams, cross patched stitching on the straps and carry handles. The finer detail, such as the weight pouches and outside sleeve for landing nets and the extra strap to hold it down, just highlight the thought that went into the product. Detail that only an angler knows are needed, and have been absent on many we’ve used in the past.

Although names rod holdalls, the reels are also just as important to protect, and the internal padding looks generous, with a generous inner padded flap protecting the reels from each other. The inner material also looks durable and water proof, making it easy to wipe down and keep dirt free.

Although not in the country yet, we hope to get our hands on a few demo units and will report back if the real thing lives up to our expectations.https://www.youtube.com/embed/pNxRtfeP0pM?feature=oembed
