Venue Highlight

Hidden in the middle of Meadowdale lies a beautiful Carpy dam which hosts some really special fish that fight as good as they look. Thanks to Gordon and Jessy Brews the fishery was recently reopened for all those who love to fish for carp and “get away”.  The Quarry, estimated at 500m long and 100m across in size, boasts extremely clear water which is fed by an underground spring with its depth varying from 4m to 10m.

Truly Carpy swims complete with wooden decks

Originally the quarry was mined for making bricks, which is why its basin consists mostly of bricks, steel structures and a number of trees, which make it an ideal habitat for all species of fish. This also proves to be challenging for anglers and really tests your fishing gear and specimen angling skills.

Permanent Bivvy-like shelters spaced perfectly

The quarry can accommodate 10 swims with 2 anglers per swim. On its banks are three wooden cabins, four wooden gazebos and several braai and camping areas. Toilet facilities are available but there is no electricity.
